Boom Boom Burgers has now closed for business
I was looking for somewhere to have a good lunch in Surfers Paradise so I did a Google search for the Best Restaurants in Surfers Paradise and of course Tripadvisor was one of the first search results. I saw listed as the #2 restaurant in Surfers Paradise as Boom Boom Burgers and all the reviews sounded positive and they had some great pics of some tasty burgers. (btw the #1 listed restaurant in Surfers Paradise was Misono Japanese Steakhouse at the Marriott Surfers Paradise Resort)
Boom Boom Burgers is located on Chevron Island, just at the back of Surfers Paradise Beach. It took me around 12 minutes to walk there from the centre of Surfers Paradise, from the Hilton Hotel on Orchid Avenue. I did walk fast as I was hungry! It was probably a 20 minute stroll back with a burger filled belly.
The sign out the front of Boom Boom Burgers proudly announced they were voted as the Top 10 Burgers in Australia. No mention of who voted but it was a proud announcement. The menu is all burgers and what a great selection they have. They have over 13 burgers on the menu and even have a tasty vegetarian burger.
There was a really nice French guy serving when I walked in. He recommended as this was my first visit to try the Smoking Hot Burger ($16) which has a smoked 150 day old aged beef patty, mushrooms, pickled cucumber, spinach, cheddar cheese and their secret mayonnaise. It was a very tasty burger! It comes out covered with a plastic dome which is filled with smoke. He told that the smoke permeates into the burger which it sure did. The burger and a really pleasant smokey taste.
He also suggested to order a side of the Puff Potatoes which was another awesome tip. These are little balls of mashed potato deep fried. So tasty!
Next time I go I really want to try their stock standard Boom Boom Bang burger ($9.90) with Wagyu beef, homemade tomato sauce, caramalised red onion, cheese and onion.
