The menu at Chaco Bar Barangaroo is limited to bowls of delicious Japanese ramen noodle soup. The bowls are quite small, disposable cardboard bowls, but the contents are delicious.

I chose the Fat Soy Ramen noodle soup which comes with a slice of Cha Shu Pork, seasoned egg and a large slice of seaweed. I am not sure what the egg is seasoned in. I didn’t actually recognize it as an egg. It was a funny colour with a florescent yolk. I scrapped at the yolk to work out what the heck it was and realized it was the seasoned egg. A bit funky tasting but OK.

The prices for the ramen noodle soup is ‘Barangaroo prices’! Expensive! $15 for a small bowl of ramen noodle soup is a bit pricey for Sydney prices but it is not deterring the workers close to Barangaroo, as they are lapping up the noodles and queuing up to order and wait for their noodles to be ready. Chaco Bar Barangaroo only accepts credit cards for payment. No cash accepted! Have we moved to the cashless society yet?

You can also order a few side dishes to go with your ramen noodle soup including yummy Gyoza (Japanese pork dumplings) 4 pieces for $8, John Dory Dumpling with Sansho Black Bean Sauce for $9, Pork slider for $7, Edamame for $4 or the Wakame Coleslaw for $5.
