Restaurants that accept credit cards Sairee Beach Koh Tao

Many restaurants on Koh Tao do not accept credit cards – cash only. Here are some restaurants that accept credit cards at Sairee Beach Koh Tao:

Sandbar Restaurant – beach front – upmarket restaurant, very good service – accept credit cards NFC mobile payments with a 3.5% International card surchage. Happy hour 16:00 – 19:00, discounted cocktails, TIger draught beer for 85 Thb (usually 110). I can recommend their Chicken burgers. Their menu changes often, while I was their they had a delicious KFC *Korean Fried Chicken burger with coleslaw, cucumber and mayo. Very yummy.

Charcoal Bay Wine & Grill – beach front – is an upmarket grill restaurant accepting credit cards. For credit card payments they have a minimum spend of 1000 Thb + a 4% credit card fee. 1000Thb is is easy to spend for dining with 2 people. I spent more than that as a solo diner with pork ribs, beers++ and a classic mojito. The service here is very very good. Much better than the standard ‘island’ service at most other restaurants. You can get have a decent meal here for around 300 Baht per person (no drinks) but can spend much much more.

Seashell Restaurant at the beach front (out front of Seashell Resort) accept credit cards with a minimum spend of 500 Thb.

Sairee Cottage Restaurant – beach front – out the front of Sairee Cottage Resort. Sairee Cottage Restaurant only accept Visa and Mastercard wit a 5% surcharge. Great views of the beach front.

Blue Water Cafe – beach front – accept credit cards and NFC mobile payments. Minimum spend is 500 Thb with a 4% surcharge.

Maya Beach Club – beach front – accept NFC Mobile credit card payments. Surchage TBC.

Whitening Restaurant – beach front – upmarket Seafood restaurant – accept credit cards. 1000 Thb minimum spend with 4% surcharge. I went in solo and said I will not spend 1000, can I still charge to credit card and they said yes. With 2 people it will not be a problem spending 1000 if you are drinking. Blue Light Wine Bar and Bistro – beach front – accept Credit card and NFC Mobile payment with a 3% surchage. Part of the Blue Tao Beach Hotel which is one of the newest hotels on Koh Tao. On weekends they have live music or a DJ playing in the evening from 7.30pm.

Ibiza Beach Club – beach front – classy Spanish Tapas Restaurant – accept credit card payments – Under 1000 Thb spend they charge 3%, over 1000 Thb spend no surchage.

Flower Resort and Restaurant – beach front – accept credit cards with 5% surchage.

Lotus Restaurant – beach walk – accept credit cards with minimum spend 200 Thb. They even accept Amex (don’t use Amex!).

Oasis Restaurant on the main road at the Sairee Town centre accept credit cards with a 5% surcharge. Check out their food meny on the Oasis Restaurant website. I went there for breakfast and it is a very nice cafe / restaurant, proper table place matts. I had their bacon and egg muffin call their wake up burger (200 Thb) which was OK. The muffin was not your classic English muffin! For the wake up burger, hot latte and a freshly squeezed orange juice cost 370 Thb.

Fizz Beach Club – beach front – accept credit cards (surcharge TBC). A very good beach club with resident and visiting DJs.

Choppers Sports Bar – at the end of the beach path – accept Visa and Mastercard with a 4% surchage. The Bistro ‘The Grubhouse’ serve up a huge range of good pub food. I had their crumbed fish and chips which was delicious.

The Factory Cafe – on the main road opposite the 7-Eleven store, up from Blue Tao Beach Hotel. Accept NFC credit card payments with a 4% surcharge.

7-Eleven stores in Sairee Beach (open 24 hours) accept credit cards with minimum 200 Thb spend – No surcharge. You can stock up on beer and snacks and they even sell decent quality meals like Thai rice dish plus their famous ham and cheese toasted sandwiches which they heat for you in their Breville sandwich maker in store. There are 2 7-Eleven stores in Sairee Beach. 1 at the main intersection of Sairee Town and the other half walk down Sairee Beach on the main road. There is another 7-Eleven close to Mae Haad Pier.

I went into a few cafes which had a credit card POS machine but when I asked if I could pay they said ‘no. machine not work’ so make sure you got cash with you.
