Refill Water Bottle in Bangkok for 1 Baht
Bangkok is hot, humid, and thirsty work. Buying a 1.5-litre bottle of water at 7-Eleven every few hours adds up fast – 15–25 THB a pop (A$0.70–1.20) and a mountain of plastic guilt. The good news? Scattered across the city are reverse-osmosis water vending machines that give you clean, cool, safe drinking water for a ridiculous 1 THB per 1.5 litres – that’s A$0.05. One coin, one refill, zero waste. The water is filtered through multi-stage reverse osmosis, UV-treated, and chilled to a perfect “not cold, not warm” temperature. Bring any reusable bottle (or buy a cheap one for 30–50 THB) and you’ll save hundreds of baht – and hundreds of plastic bottles – on every trip.
These machines are everywhere once you know what to look for: tall silver or blue boxes with buttons, coin slots, and a nozzle. Most accept 1-THB coins only (keep a stash), and many now have contactless payment. In 2025/2026 there are over 2,000 across Greater Bangkok, run by private companies (Fresh Inter, Angel Water, Smile Drink) and the city’s own Refill Bangkok Project.

Best Refill Spots in the Sukhumvit Tourist Zone (Tested & Updated 2025)
Soi 4 Nana (Lower Sukhumvit)
- Machine 1: Right outside Hydon Apartments, 30 m before the Benchakitti Park entrance (left side walking from Sukhumvit Road).
- Machine 2: 10 m further down, same side.
- Bonus machine: Halfway down Soi 4 on the right, directly opposite SM Grande Residence – different brand, same 1-THB price.

Soi 1 Sukhumvit
- Fresh Inter machine: 40 m down on the right – bright blue, easy to spot.
- Angel Water machine: At the very end near the canal, outside an apartment building – perfect after a stroll.

Soi 26 Phrom Phong (EmDistrict area)
- Smile Drink machine on the small laneway just off Soi 26, 50 m from the DoubleTree by Hilton – hidden but always working. Just down from Phrom Phong BTS and the EmDistrict.

Other Reliable Areas
- Asok (near Terminal 21) – Closest refill stations are either at enrance of Benchakitti Park at end of Soi 10, Soi 4 past Nana BTS or Soi 26 Phrom Phong BTS – both 1 stop.
- There are 3 within Benjakitti Park (access via end of Soi 4 or Soi 10)
- Thonglor & Ekkamai – look in smaller sois; locals love them.
- Silom/Sathorn – near Lumpini Park entrances and BTS stations.
Pro Tips for 1-Baht Refills
- Carry 10–20 one-baht coins.
- Machines run 24/7, but early morning or late night = no queue.
- Water is safe – reverse osmosis + UV kills everything. I’ve been drinking it daily for years with zero issues.
- Support the Refill Bangkok Project – some stations are free in public parks and universities.
One simple habit – refilling instead of buying – saves you A$5 – A$20 per week and cuts your plastic footprint to almost zero. In a city that loves convenience, this is the easiest eco-win you’ll ever make.
Next time you’re sweating down Sukhumvit, skip the 7-Eleven fridge and hunt down a 1-baht machine instead. Your wallet and the planet will thank you.

Hi Scott, thanks for all this info.
We’ve just walked all around Asoke BTS exits and can’t see any water machines. Can you be more specific? We’re staying up Soi 19 and the nearest one we’ve found is in the So Klean laundry in Sukhumvit Living Town on Soi 21.
I’m not sure of any refills around Asok BTS. Closest will be end of Soi 10, entrance of Benchakitti Park, Soi 4 or Soi 24
