February 21, 2026Staying fit while traveling in Bangkok is easy at the Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit 24 (on Soi 24, Phrom Phong, Sukhumvit). The hotel’s Gymnasium / Fitness Centre at Hyatt Place Soi 24 is a solid, well-equipped space for a 4-star property – perfect for maintaining your routine without leaving the hotel. Location & Access The gym is on Level 19 – the same floor as the outdoor swimming pool. This makes it super convenient: finish your workout, then step out to the pool for a cool-down or relaxation. Access is 24/7 for guests (no extra fee), with key card entry for security. Cardio Machines in the Fitness Centre at Hyatt Place Hotel Bangkok Weight training room with machines and free weights Layout & Equipment The fitness centre is divided into three dedicated rooms – smart design that keeps things organized and uncrowded: Cardio Room: Treadmills, walking/running machines, steppers, exercise bikes, and other cardio options. It has a decent city view over Lower Sukhumvit and toward the Sathorn Financial District (left side). Electronic scales are available for quick weigh-ins. Great natural light and ventilation – no stuffy feel. Weight Room: Full selection for strength training – leg extension/curl machines, multi-position chest press, lat pulldown, and other selectorized equipment for upper and lower body. There’s a complete rack of free weights (dumbbells) for classic lifts. Plenty of space and mirrors for form checks. Stretching / Functional Room: Open area with large exercise balls, yoga mats, and space for stretching, core work, or bodyweight exercises. Ideal for cool-downs, mobility, or a quick HIIT session. Overall, it’s fairly well-equipped for a hotel gym – everything needed for full-body workouts (cardio, strength, functional). Clean, modern machines in good condition, with towels, water stations, and changing/shower facilities nearby. Bonus: The Pool Area Right next to the gym is the outdoor pool – about 12 meters long (not ideal for serious laps, but refreshing for a dip). Only 6 sunbeds, so it can get busy during peak hours. Views are nice over the surrounding area, and it’s a pleasant spot to relax post-workout. Hyatt Place Sukhumvit 24 outdoor swimming pool Relaxing outdoor swimming pool at Hyatt Place Sukhumvit 24 Tips for Guests Go early morning or late evening for quieter sessions (midday can see a few more people). Bring your own headphones if you like music – TVs are available but limited. Combine gym + pool for a full recovery session. Location bonus: Phrom Phong BTS is 10–15 min walk; EmQuartier/Emporium malls are steps away for post-workout shopping or eats. For a 4-star Bangkok hotel gym, Hyatt Place Sukhumvit 24 punches above its weight – clean, functional, scenic, and 24/7 access. If you’re staying here (or nearby), it’s a reliable spot to stay active without hunting for external gyms.Have you worked out at Hyatt Place Sukhumvit 24? What’s your go-to routine there? February 3, 2026The gymnasium/fitness centre at Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit Soi 1 is a convenient, 24-hour facility located on the 8th floor (top level), right next to the outdoor swimming pool. This rooftop-level placement means you can easily combine a workout with a swim or simply enjoy city views while exercising. While compact in size, the gym is well-equipped for most guests’ needs and offers a clean, modern space with plenty of natural light from the large windows overlooking the pool area. Row of cardio machines at the gym of Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit Soi 1 Cardio Equipment A row of cardio machines is positioned along the windows for inspiring views of the pool and skyline: Treadmills (multiple units, including at least 2–3, with modern “smart” touchscreens on some models for streaming or tracking). Elliptical machines (1–2 available). Stationary bicycles (a few upright or recumbent options). This setup is ideal for steady-state cardio or intervals while enjoying the outdoor scenery. Strength & Functional Training Precor weight machines — High-quality selectorized equipment for legs (leg press, leg extension/curl) and upper body (chest press, lat pulldown, shoulder press, etc.). Dual Adjustable Pulley Functional Trainer — A standout piece for versatile full-body workouts (cable crossovers, rows, tricep pushdowns, bicep curls, leg kicks, and more). The adjustable straps make it highly effective for back, shoulders, chest, arms, and legs. Dumbbell rack — Free weights ranging from light (2kg) to heavy (20kg+), plus a bench for presses, rows, and other exercises. Strength training area at the gym of Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit Soi 1 Dumbbell rack with hand weights at Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit Soi 1 gym Additional Amenities & Notes Free bottled water and towels are typically available. Mirrors throughout for form checking. Yoga mats/studio space in an adjacent or nearby area for stretching or bodyweight work. Cleanliness & Maintenance — Guests consistently report the gym as well-maintained, quiet (rarely crowded), and modern. Access — 24/7 for hotel guests (no extra fee); key card entry via elevator to the 8th floor. While not a massive commercial gym, it’s more than sufficient for maintaining a routine during your stay — especially with the pool next door for recovery. Perfect for cardio, strength circuits, or functional training without leaving the hotel. If you’re staying at Hyatt Place Sukhumvit 1, the 8th-floor fitness centre is a real bonus! [...] Read more...

January 6, 2026I have stayed at a few different hotels in the heart of Phnom Penh and now have found my favourite. Palace Gate Hotel is a beautiful hotel, located just a few minutes walk from the riverfront in the heart of Phnom Penh. Right at the rear of the hotel is the Royal Palace. Palace Gate Hotel and Resort Phnom Penh The Palace Gate Hotel is set in an old French colonial building which once operated as the offices of the French Colonial Government. The buildings have been immaculately restored and renovated, making this luxury hotel one of the best hotels to stay in Phnom Penh. Palace Gate Hotel Phnom Penh The swimming pool at the hotel is an oasis of relaxation. I spent a few afternoons relaxing at the pool with swimming, eating and drinking. There is a bar next to the swimming pool with a full food menu for dining by the pool. If you are not staying at the hotel, you can also pay a fee for a day rate to hang out at the swimming pool. Palace Gate Hotel Swimming Pool Inside one of the beautiful colonial buildings it the bar and classy restaurant called Mealea which serves up French cuisine as well as some stunning local Khmer cuisine. Within the restaurant, the buffet breakfast is also served, with an excellent selection of breakfast foods and a chef to cook up eggs any style or prepare Khmer style noodle soups. The bar at Palace Gate Hotel Phnom Penh At the rear of the hotel is the very cool Organic Skybar which has stunning views over the Royal Palace, the perfect place to have a few evening cocktails while watching the sunset over the Palace. Happy hour starts from 5pm with 2 drinks of the price of 1. View from Organic Skybar at Palace Gate Hotel The Palace Gate Hotel is the sort of resort hotel that you can stay and relax, never having the leave the sanctuary of the hotel grounds. With the restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, full bar and excellent swimming pool to relax at. They also have a salon for massage and beauty treatments and full equipped gymnasium. Palace Gate Hotel gymnasium I will definitely be staying at the Palace Gate again on my next visit to Phnom Penh. December 15, 2025Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 – A Stylish, Relaxed Haven in the Heart of Soi 11 Nightlife Tripatrek Score: 9.5 /10The Tripatrek score is an average of these 5 features of the Aloft Hotel Soi 11.Location: 10 / 10Room Quality: 9.5 / 10Hotels Facilities: 9 / 10In-house Restaurants: 9 / 10Restaurants near-by: 10 / 10 I’ve stayed at Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 four times between August 2024 and my most recent visit in December 2025, and it’s become one of my go-to hotels in Bangkok. This modern, boutique-style Marriott property strikes the perfect balance between trendy vibe and practical comfort, right in the thick of Sukhumvit Soi 11’s buzzing nightlife scene. Relaxing rooftop infinity pool catching morning sun at Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 – a shaded oasis with cocktails in the heart of Soi 11. Location: 10/10 The hotel’s position is unbeatable. You’re literally steps from the action on Soi 11, yet just a 4-minute walk to Nana BTS station. Terminal 21 shopping mall and the interchange at Asok BTS/Sukhumvit MRT are about 10 minutes away on foot. Getting around Bangkok is effortless—no need for constant taxis or long walks in the heat. Rooms & Comfort My stays were in the basic room category (around THB 3,900 / ~AUD 177 per night in low season), which was spotless, spacious, and well-designed with Aloft’s signature loft-style layout. The bed was super comfortable, Wi-Fi fast and reliable, and higher floors (I was on 25) offer impressive quietness despite the lively street below—you barely hear traffic or nightlife noise. One minor downside: the air-conditioning unit was quite noisy, so I ran it while out and turned it off at night; the room stayed cool enough for sleeping. Opt for a city-view room if you want skyline sights (worth the small upgrade). Clean and contemporary bathroom featuring a spacious walk-in shower in a standard room at Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Facilities & Amenities The standout feature is the rooftop infinity pool—it catches morning sun and turns into a shaded oasis in the afternoon, with friendly bar staff mixing excellent cocktails. There’s also a 24-hour gym and a fun retro arcade in the lobby (sadly taken away after the renovations in 2024) (my Pac-Man high score might still be up there!). Booking direct via Marriott’s site earned me valuable Bonvoy points each stay. Buffet Breakfast I tried both options: paying à la carte (THB 490) one morning and including it in the rate on later visits (much better value). The buffet is generous with Western and Asian choices—fresh fruits, pastries, eggs cooked to order, bacon, sausages, congee, noodles, yogurts, cereals, and a great coffee/juice station where you can refill as much as you like. Definitely worth adding to your booking. Realistic partial city view from a basic room at Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 – urban scenery with neighboring buildings in the foreground Well-equipped 24-hour fitness center gym at Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 – stay active during your Soi 11 stay. Generous buffet breakfast spread served at Crave Restaurant inside Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 – a great start to your day in Soi 11. Dining Nearby While the hotel has its own eateries, Soi 11 is a foodie’s dream. My top 5 recommendations within 2–5 minutes’ walk: Chez LN Homemade French Cafe – Directly opposite the hotel; incredible quiche and coffee. El Gaucho Argentinian Steakhouse – 100m right, in Mercure Hotel; premium steaks. Best steaks in Bangkok! Breakfast Story – Opposite Mercure in the side soi; fantastic all-day breakfasts Bang Bang Burgers – 50m left, across Soi 1; juicy gourmet burgers. Tonkatsu Katsu Ichi – Next door (turn left, through the parking lot); crispy Japanese pork cutlets. air-conditioning unit noted for noise in a standard room at Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 – a minor drawback in an otherwise great stay. Getting There & Transport Airport taxis run about THB 400 (45–60 mins, traffic dependent). Early morning to Bang Sue Grand Station cost me THB 400 after some negotiation (20 mins). Grab rides are reliable too. Overall Verdict Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 delivers excellent value—stylish, well-located, and relaxed without pretension. It’s my preferred spot for earning Marriott points on a mid-range budget in Sukhumvit. The minor AC noise is the only niggle; everything else is spot-on. I’ll definitely be back on my next Bangkok trip. Highly recommended for solo travelers, couples, or anyone wanting nightlife access without sacrificing comfort. [...] Read more...
December 7, 2025If you’re searching for a reliable, no-drama 4-star base in one of Bangkok’s most liveable neighbourhoods, Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit on Soi 24 is my go-to. I’ve stayed here five times in the last 2 years alone for 1 week at a time, and every visit feels like slipping into a favourite pair of jeans – comfortable, familiar, and just right. Hyatt Place Soi 24 – Located in the heart of Phrom Phong’s “second Little Tokyo” (not Little Tokyo in Silom), the hotel sits opposite the EmDistrict malls (Emporium, EmQuartier, Emsphere) and next to peaceful Benchasiri Park, with Phrom Phong BTS station literally a 5-minute walk away. You’re surrounded by outstanding Japanese restaurants (from dirt-cheap yakitori joints and ramen joints to proper omakase counters) and a 7-Eleven 20 metres from the door for those inevitable late-night cravings. For a full list of restaurants within 3–5 minutes’ walk, check my guide here: Restaurants Walking Distance from Hyatt Place Soi 24. Step out of Hyatt Place Soi 24 and you’re surrounded by some of Bangkok’s best Japanese eats – all less than 3 minutes walk. Explore Soi 24 for your type of restaurant via Google Maps: The hotel itself isn’t trying to be the flashiest on Sukhumvit – it’s not the Peninsula or Mandarin Oriental – but it delivers that signature Hyatt polish at a price that makes luxury feel accessible. Rates in 2025/2026 typically range from A$120–180 for a standard king room to A$200–280 for the corner suites which I often get upgraded to (World of Hyatt members, take note – status pays off here). The Rooms – Spacious, Practical, and Perfect for Longer Stays Standard rooms are a generous 30–35 m², while the corner suites jump to 55 m² with a separate living area, sofa bed, and panoramic windows overlooking Benchasiri Park and the glowing Emsphere mall at night. The king beds are plush without being overly soft, and blackout curtains actually work – a rarity in Bangkok. You’ll find plenty of power sockets and USB ports (including bedside), a large 55-inch smart TV, a mini-fridge (empty, so you can stock your own beer and snacks), and a proper work desk with decent lighting for digital nomads. The corner suite upgrade that makes every stay worth it – straight view to glowing Emsphere at night. The bathroom is one of the highlights: a powerful rain shower with good water pressure, Hyatt’s signature Pharmacopia amenities, and thick towels that feel genuinely luxurious. In-room safe is large enough for a laptop and passport, and the free high-speed Wi-Fi consistently clocks 80–100 Mbps – fast enough for video calls or streaming F1 (though, sadly, no BEIN Sports channel on the TV). Service That Makes You Feel Like a Regular After One Stay The staff are the real MVP here. From the moment you walk in, they remember faces and preferences. Housekeeping is impeccable, and the front-desk team are pros at arranging Grab rides, restaurant reservations, or even laundry service (same-day turnaround for a small fee). 24-hour reception means late arrivals or early departures are never a hassle. Dining & Drinking – Surprisingly Good for a “Limited-Service” Brand The buffet breakfast (included in many rates) is one of the better 4-star spreads in Bangkok: fresh tropical fruit, made-to-order eggs, decent pastries, yoghurt, cereal, congee, and unlimited decent coffee. It’s not the insane variety of a 5-star, but everything is fresh and it sets you up for the day. Room service runs 24/7 with a solid menu – Thai classics, burgers, pastas, and healthy options – and portions are generous. I’ve ordered late-night pad thai and club sandwiches multiple times and they always arrive hot and well-presented. Aire Rooftop Bar on the 28th floor is the hotel’s crown jewel. Open till midnight (later on weekends), it offers 270-degree city views, live music most evenings, and a creative cocktail list that punches above its weight (try the lemongrass martini). Aire Rooftop has a smoking section at the rear seating area. One of Sukhumvit’s most underrated rooftops – cocktails, live music, and 270-degree views. Thursday and Friday nights get busy with a DJ, so book ahead for a good table. Happy hour (5–7 PM) 2-for-1 deal making it one of the better-value rooftops in Phrom Phong. Wellness & Fitness – Functional with a View The 19th-floor pool is small (about 10 metres) but catches beautiful morning sun and has excellent views down Soi 24 in both directions – perfect for a relaxing dip rather than serious laps. Morning sun + skyline views = the perfect way to start the day at Hyatt Place Soi 24. The gym on the same floor is compact but well-equipped for a hotel of this class: Technogym cardio machines (treadmills, bikes, ellipticals) with individual TVs, a decent free-weight area, and cable machines. The floor-to-ceiling windows give motivating park and skyline views while you work out. The gym might be small, but the views from the treadmills make the workout fly by. In-spa massage services are available (Thai, aromatherapy, foot) at reasonable prices (800–1,500 THB for 60 minutes) – book at reception and they’ll set up in your room or the small treatment area. There are a few decent massage shops minutes walk from the hotel for a massage around 300 THB. And there are many super dodgy massage shops on Soi 24/1. Location & Transport – Why Soi 24 Is My Favourite Spot on Sukhumvit Phrom Phong BTS is literally across the road (Exit 4), putting you 5–10 minutes from Asok, Thong Lor, or Siam. The hotel is 35–50 minutes from both airports by Airport Rail Link + BTS (change at Makkasan or Phaya Thai), or 45–90 minutes by Grab depending on traffic. Soi 24 itself is packed with Japanese restaurants (Kakurega Shizuku is my regular), Korean BBQ, and international chains, plus a 24-hour 7-Eleven for emergency supplies. Benchasiri Park next door is great for morning runs or evening people-watching. The Honest Downsides (Nothing Deal-Breaking) Elevators require a change at the lobby for higher floors, which can add minutes in peak times. Air-conditioning in corner suites is needed when the afternoon sun hits the windows – it makes a bit of noise so you have to turn the volume of the TV up and it blows directly onto the bed, so if you are relaxing in the afternoon, you need the air-con to cool the room but need to turn it off. I turn the air-con when I go out to grab a feed and the room is very cool for a few hours. No Air-con at night when I’m sleeping – you wake up thirsty. TV channel selection is limited (no BEIN Sports for F1 fans), and Grab/taxi waits from Soi 24 can stretch to 10–15 minutes in rush hour (staff are quick to book, though). The gym and pool, while nice, are compact – serious fitness enthusiasts might head to a nearby Virgin Active or Fitness First. Verdict – Why Hyatt Place Soi 24 Keeps Pulling Me Back In a city full of flashy 5-stars and sketchy budget options, Hyatt Place Soi 24 nails the sweet spot: genuine service, comfortable rooms, a killer rooftop bar, and one of the best locations on Sukhumvit – all at prices that feel like a steal compared to the big luxury names. I’ve stayed in fancier hotels in Bangkok, but none make me feel as “at home” as this one does. If you value consistency, convenience, and a neighbourhood you’ll actually want to explore on foot, book it. You won’t regret it. Ready to book Hyatt Place Soi 24? December 17, 2024I used to stay at Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Bangkok everytime I visited Bangkok, it was always my hotel of choice in Bangkok, until Hyatt Regency open. I had not stayed at Grand Hyatt since 2018 but I had the chance to stay again in December 2024 and it is still a great hotel! Back in 2017, I got a very pleasant free upgrade to a very large suit which was very sweet! The lounge room was huge with a 6 person dining table and a huge bay window with a view out over the racecourse just down the road. Suite at Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel Bangkok On the lower ground floor there used to be the famous Spasso Italian Restaurant which served up some great Italian food including very tasty pizza. After the dinner service the bar in Spasso became a very busy nightspot, with loads of tourists, expats and local ladies. But Spasso closed after the pandemic and has been replaced by a French resaurant which has a bar in the exact location that Spasso had. I did not see it late at night to see if was still a good nightlife destination. There is a very good Italian Restaurant called Salvia. I had pizza there for lunch and it was very very good. Pizza at Salvia Italian Restaurant Grand Hyatt Erawan There is a set of stairs on the Lower Ground floor which takes you down to what used to be called The Urban Kitchen but is now just signed ‘Erawan’. Here you will find a handful of high end restaurants worth a visit. Read more about the restaurants downstairs in the Erawan mall. There are a few large shopping centres walking distance from the Grand Hyatt Bangkok. Just around the corner on Sukhumvit Road is the Amarin Plaza Shopping Mall. Diagonally across from the Grand Hyatt is the Central World shopping mall which is one of the largest shopping malls in Bangkok. If you go over here check out the Red Sky Bar on the 55th level of Centrara Grand Hotel which is located above the shopping mall. (check out Best Roof Top Bars in Bangkok). Red Sky Bar Bangkok The Siam Paragon Shopping Centre is only 1 block away from the Grand Hyatt and MBK Shopping Mall which is the largest shopping mall in Bangkok is just 2 large blocks away. It is best to get the Sky Train from Ratchadamri Station (walk out the Grand Hyatt and turn left and it is around 150m away, next to the St Regis Hotel, go 2 stops to the National Stadium Station which is close to MBK. Right in front of the Amarin Plaza shopping mall is the entrance to the Chit Lom BTS Sky Train Station which has trains going directly to a number of stations worth visiting including the Victory Monument Station, Mo Chit BTS Station (for JJ Markets – Chatuchak Markets) and ofcourse Nana Station for Nana Entertainment Plaza is only 2 stops from Chit Lom station so much better option to get the sky train there and back then trying to get a taxi from the Grand Hyatt. I often have to wait 5 minutes or more before I can get a taxi out the front of the Grand Hyatt. See directions to get to the Top 10 Bangkok Attractions by Public Transport from Doubletree by Hilton Ploenchit The location of Doubletree by Hilton Ploenchit Located on Soi 2 Sukhumvit, the hotel is an 8 minute walk to Ploenchit BTS Skytrain or 9 minutes walk to Nana BTS Station. Soi 2 is a very quiet street, with just a few hotels, a small number of restaurants which makes the hotel rooms quiet and peaceful. The nightlife is only a short walk away starting from Soi 4. See a full guide at the bottom of this page to see how to get to the Top 10 Attractions in Bangkok via Public Transport. Soi 2 outside JW Marriott and Ploenchit Centre There is a road directly opposite the Doubletree by Hilton which connects Soi 2 to So 4 but it is a private owned road, part of the Maison Hotel, so unless you are staying at the Maison, you can’t use this road to cut across to Soi 4. To go around to Sukhumvit Road, it will take about 7 minutes to walk. There are always taxis and tuk-tuk waiting outside the hotel to take you for short rides or to take you on a tour of Bangkok. They have signs up out the front showing the various tours available. Prices for a tour will be up to around 2000 Baht for a full day tour. They will ask for alot more, you just have to bargain them down. The Room Quality Doubletree by Hilton Ploenchit room A very comfortable room. I’ve also stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton on Soi 26 Sukhumvit, and they also do a very good breakfast. July 11, 2022Aston Canggu Beach Resort Hotel ReviewTripatrek Score: 9.3 /10The Tripatrek score is an average of these 5 features of the Aston Canggu Beach Resort :Location: 10 / 10Room Quality: 8.5 / 10Hotel Facilities: 9 / 10In-house Restaurant: 9 / 10Restaurants near-by: 10 / 10 Deluxe Room at Aston Canggu Beach Resort I spent 3 nights at Aston Beach Resort Canggu in April 2022 and had an excellent stay. Here are my opinions on this fine 4 Star Hotel. I had paid just A$68 per night during my stay for a Deluxe room and rate this as a great hotel to stay at in Canggu. Hotel Location Awesome location! The name ‘Beach Resort’ is a bit misleading as this is not located on the beach but it is only 130 meters down to Batu Bolong Beach, less than 2 minutes walk. You get excellent views from the rooftop bar / swimming pool down over the ocean and can see the surf. Each afternoon I spent Quality time with a ‘Sunset Cocktail’ (Bintang Beer) looking down on over 100 Surfers riding the waves. Rooftop Swimming Pool at Aston Canggu Beach Resort Room Quality Very comfortable and clean rooms. This is a 4 star hotel so don’t expect luxury style accommodation. The room had everything I needed. A very large King sized bed which was very comfortable, nice large shower with good water pressure, a room safe to store my passport and cash and a nice balcony and good quality WiFi. Bathroom at Aston Canggu Beach Resort The rooms are non smoking but you can smoke out on the balcony. There is only slight glimpses of the ocean from the balconies. You do look straight across to other rooms so not the most private. Balcony at Aston Canggu Beach Resort View from Balcony at Aston Canggu Beach Resort My room was serviced each day and 2 bottles of water were left in my room each day. WiFi Internet worked very well in the room and at the rooftop bar. Hotel Facilities All the facilities were good quality. They have an ok equipped gymnasium. Swimming pool is an OK size, not so good if you keen to do laps but great for a morning or afternoon dip and you get views from the pool down over the surf. Swimming Pool at Aston Canggu Beach Resort In-house Restaurant The restaurant is located at the rooftop, right next to the pool. They do a buffet breakfast. If breakfast is not included with your room you can pay 75,000Rp for breakfast. Restaurant at Aston Canggu Beach Resort They also served meals and snacks at lunch time and dinner with tables and chairs right next to the pool. Restaurants near-by: There are so many restaurants to choose from within walking distance from the hotel. Head down to Batu Bolong Beach and there are a string of cheap restaurants with view over the beach. I went to Beach Bums Restaurant a few times for breakfast Also across at the car park next to the beach is an awesome Japanese Restaurant called Ramen Shichifukujin which serves the best Ramen Noodle Soup in Bali. Just 50 meters away is Soi 11 which is a popular night life area, lined with restaurants, bars and street food. There is also a good choice of bars and restaurants on Soi 13. Room Quality This is a ultra-luxury hotel. Normally the Hyatt Regency is in the mid-tier of Hyatt quality. The top hotels within the Hyatt Group are the Grand Hyatt and the Park Hyatt hotels. I would put the quality of this Hyatt Regency Bangkok on par with the Park Hyatt hotels. King Bed Room at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit Hotel The rooms on the higher floors have excellent views of the Bangkok Skyline. The rooms are fitted with a large King sized, comfortable beds. There is a desk for getting some work done and there are easy to access international power points and USB connections for charging your devices. The bathrooms are spacious with floor to glass windows. The room I had looked directly into some apartment buildings across the street, so within the bathroom, people could see straight in, especially at night with the lights on. There are automatic blinds that close right to the ground if you don’t want to be watched on the toilet or in the shower. I am not so shy 😉 There is a room safe, located within the walk in closest before you enter the bathroom. The hotel is ‘Guest Friendly’ like most 5 star hotels in Bangkok. If you have a guest joining you in your room, you do have to register the guest at reception with identification. Hotel Facilities 24 hour reception area. Great high speed Wi-Fi internet access. I got all my work done during my stay at the Hyatt Regency. Fast downloads and upload speed. Awesome outdoor, infinity swimming pool on level 6 with a great view. Right next to the swimming pool is a bar where you can order drinks or have food delivered. Swimming Pool at Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit Hotel Also on Level 5 is an excellent fitness centre. Open Kitchen at the Buffet Breakfast in Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit Bangkok There is also the lobby lounge, right next to the reception area, serving light meals, snacks, coffee and some delicious cakes. I had my breakfast, and snacks/drinks during the day inside the excellent Regency Club Lounge which is located on the 27th Floor which has stunning views of the Bangkok skyline. The staff in the Club Lounge provide excellent service. It is well worth paying the extra for Club access to get the buffet breakfast, snacks, drinks, tea/coffee during the day and drinks and canapes in the early evening. February 20, 2021Hilton Hotel in Cairns is one of the best hotels to stay in the lovely city of Cairns, in far north Queensland. I’d place the Hilton Cairns in the top 3 hotels of Cairns along with the Pullman Reef Casino Hotel and the Shangri-la Hotel. Located right in the heart of Cairns City, next to the Cairns Marina waterfront, there is a choice of rooms with a view of the waterfront or with city views looking towards the mountains inland from Cairns. Hilton Cairns Hotel Review Tripatrek Score:  9.4 /10The Tripatrek score is an average of these 5 features of the Pullman Reef Casino Hotel:Location: 10 / 10Room Quality: 9.5 / 10Hotel Facilities: 8.5 / 10In-house Restaurant: 9 / 10Restaurants near-by: 10 / 10 Location The location of the Hilton Cairns hotel is perfect. Right next to the Cairns Marina which is the hub of activity. Also right next to the city centre for easy access to loads of restaurants, tourist services and convenience stores. There is a late night convenience store right next to the Hilton. Directly to the rear of the Hilton Cairns is the Cairns Casino for some quality entertainment, live music and a good choice of restaurants. Room Quality The average price for a room at the Hilton Cairns is around $200. I have seen the price in low season go down to $155 and it can by upwards of $250 in the high season. King Hilton Deluxe Room I would recommend spending the extra money for a Hilton Deluxe room which has an excellent balcony with un-interrupted views of the waterfront. The rooms have all the amenities you would expect from a luxury 5 star hotel. With comfortable beds, a large bathroom, room safe, large TV screen and a desk for if you need to get some work done. Hotel Facilities 24 hour reception area. Good quality Wi-Fi Internet access that work in the rooms. I had no problems with the internet access with fast download and upload speeds. The outdoor swimming pool is a nice size. The pool is curved around the outside of the hotel building and is still good if you keen to swim laps. The swimming pool is heated so even in the cooler months (Cairns doesn’t get that cold in winter) the pool is comfortable to swim in. Nice garden area around the swimming pool with deck chairs to relax. Outdoor swimming pool at Hilton Cairns The fitness centre is adequate, with some walking machines and exercise bikes and a few free weights. You can definitely get a good work out at the gym but not a huge selection of exercise machines. In-house Restaurants There are 2 in-house restaurants to choose from at the Hilton Cairns. Inside, next to reception is Cafe Sunrise which is where the excellent buffet breakfast is served. You can also get meals there for lunch and dinner. The highlight of dining at the Hilton Cairns is the award wining Mondo On the Waterfront. Located right on the waterfront, Mondo has a eclectic menu with cuisine from all over the world. From Asia rice dishes, Indonesian Satay, Sri Lankan Chicken Curry, Mexican food, Chicken Schnitzel, Aussie Burgers and steaks and a choice of fresh local seafood. Restaurants at Hilton Cairns Hotel I went in for dinner at Mondo On The Waterfront and had the Indonesian Chicken Satay with fried rice and was really impressed. I visit Indonesia often and I can say this dish at Mondo was spot on for authentic Indonesian food. I would not hesitate to go back and dine at Mondo On The Waterfront. Restaurants near-by Walk out the front of the Hilton Cairns and you are right on the Cairns Marina Waterfront which has a huge selection of the best restaurants in Cairns. I can highly recommend the fine dining experience at Dundee’s Australian Restaurant. Also walking distance to the centre of Cairns city for choice of more top quality restaurants.
