The Sukhumvit area of Bangkok is the most popular tourist area to stay in Bangkok, with a range of hotels from cheap budget hotels to ultra-luxurious 5 Star hotels. Along with a great choice of restaurants, bars, nightlife, this is the area of Bangkok I always stay in. This is not just a list of the most expensive hotels in the Sukhumvit area, but the best, most popular luxury hotels, that have true character and are a pleasure to stay at.

Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit Hotel
The Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit Hotel is my choice of hotels when I visit Bangkok. Opened in November 2018, the Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit is a modern, luxury hotel right in the heart of the Sukhumvit area. As well as being a great luxury hotel, this is all about Location, Location, Location.
Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit Hotel is located on Sukhumvit Road, on the corner of Soi 13, just 110 meters walk, 1 minute, to the Nana BTS Skytrain station. 80 meters walk to Soi 11 which is one of the top entertainment streets in Sukhumvit. For more wild nightlife life, then Hyatt Regency is mid way between Nana Entertainment Plaza on Soi 4 or Soi Cowboy, both less than 10 minutes walk, in opposite directions.
Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit has a very cool rooftop bar called Spectrum, a very well equiped gymnasium and a cool swimming pool located on level 6, with nice views over Sukhumvit. They do an awesome buffet breakfast and they have a very exclusive Club lounge which has impressive views over Bangkok.

Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit Hotel
Just 120 meters down Sukhumvit Road from the Hyatt Regency Hotel is the very luxurious Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit Hotel, that is just 1 minutes walk, so this places Sofitel in the same heart of Sukhumvit area. Sofitel is synonymous with luxury, The Sofitel also has a cool rooftop bar, and their restaurant called Voila, serving Western Food as well as famous Thai dishes, located on level 32 of the hotel building.
The Sofitel also has a nice sized open air, 32 meter infinity swimming pool on level 10 with panaromic views. There is also well equipped gymnasium

JW Marriott Hotel
JW Marriot Hotel is located on the corner of Sukhumvit Road and Soi 4, which is the most famous nightlife street in Bangkok. With all the luxury you would expect from a Marriott Hotel. There is a choice of 8 restaurants and bars to choose from including a fine dining steak restaurant, Chinese, 2 Japanese restaurants and a quality cafe.

The Westin Grande, Sukhumvit Hotel
The Westin Grande is another hotel under the Marriott brand, located on Sukhumvit Road, just 85 meters walk, less than 1 minute to the Asok BTS Train Station, and the Sukhumvit MRT Subway station, for easy access to anywhere in Bangkok. With a choice of 4 restaurants/bars including the fine dining Japanese restaurant called Kisso. All other facilities you would expect from a quality 5 star hotel including gymnasium and outdoor swimming pool.

The Sheraton Grande Sukhimvit Hotel, another quality 5 star hotel under the Marriott umbrella, is located on the other side of Sukhumvit Road from the Westin Grande, just a short walk to Korean Town. With a choice of 5 restaurants/bars to choose from including an Italian Restaurant and International restaurant called The Sala, nestled in a nice outdoor garden setting.
