Shinobi Japanese Yakitori Restaurant Surfers Paradise

Shinobi is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Surfers Paradise. A very small, but incredible popular restaurant which specializes in yakitori grilled skewers. This is located in a small arcade, down the end of Orchid Avenue, in the heart to Surfers.

I have been visiting Shinobi for many years now. They have survived in Surfers Paradise, while many other restaurants have closed. They have many loyal customers, both locals who live on the Gold Coast, and regular visitors like me.

My recent visit to Shinobi was in December 2021. I got in early, around 5.30pm to make sure i got a table. You need to come early or phone ahead and make a reservation.

I started my evening meal with a glass of their tap beer and a plate of delicious pork gyoza dumplings. Great start.

I then went to town with 4 different grilled skewers, the lamb skewers, the chicken and leek skewers, the beef skewer and the very nice Wagyu beef skewer. The skewers are only small and you can order 1 stick at a time.

A very good feed indeed and I think the prices are very reasonable. I think this cost me just over $50 including 2 beers which I think is reasonable for such good quality food and an excellent dining experience. I cant wait to get back here.
