Asian Tao Vietnamese Bistro is a small restaurant located just a few minutes walk from Ikebukuro JR Train Station in Tokyo. Asian Tao specialise in traditional Vietnamese food as well as some tasty Thai food. This restaurant is only small but a great option for some South-East Asian food in Tokyo. There is also a good selection of vegetarian food.

A small restaurant with a small dining area on the ground level and a large dining area located upstairs. Serving a range of traditional Vietnamese food like fresh Vietnamese spring rolls, grilled pork dishes and Vietnamese Pho noodle soup. I sat on the ground floor at the bar area which gave me a great view of the staff preparing the food and drinks.

I went in for lunch and was blown away by the great Vietnamese food. The fresh spring rolls were as good as any I have had, including in Vietnam.

I also had some delicious Vietnamese grilled chicken salad which was packed full of fresh flavours.

They have a good selection of lunch time specials for under 1000 Yen.

They do have a menu in English as well as pictures of all the food which it makes it easy to order. This is a non-smoking restaurant.

Ikebukuro is very easy to get to from Shinjuku, just jump on the train at Shinjuku Station, on the Yamanote Line. The train trip from Shinjuku to Ikebukuro will take 9 minutes.
