If you are visiting Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia, there are 2 Aussie foods that you have to try. They are Kangaroo and Crocodile. It doesn’t get more Australian than eating the Australia wildlife! There are quite a few restaurants in Darwin that serve up these uniquely Australian foods.

Here is a list of places where you can try Kangaroo and Crocodile in Darwin:

Hotel Darwin Pub

The bistro at Hotel Darwin on Mitchell Street in Darwin’s city centre serves up a great range of Aussie pub food. The first thing on their menu is the Northern Territory Tasting Plate which has Kangaroo, Crocodile and Buffalo meat, served with a tomato relish. This is only an entree sized meal for $25. You could easily share this plate so you all get to try these delicious Aussie animals. Buffalo is not native to Australia but in the 1800’s Water Buffalo were imported to Australia as a food source for people in remote Northern Territory communities. PepperBerry Restaurant

PepperBerry is a Fine Dining modern Australia cuisine restaurant located in the Hilton Hotel on Mitchell Street, just across the road from Hotel Darwin. They use a lot of locally sourced produce including Crocodile, Kangaroo and Buffalo. I went in for an excellent 3 course meal and started with the Miso Tempura Crocodile. This was delicious. Their menu often changes but they usually have crocodile available. Last menu I saw they had a Salt and Pepper Crocodile. Sounds delicious! Read more about the Fine Dining at PepperBerry Restaurant.
