Bali’s sports bar scene is excellent for Aussie expats and tourists, with many venues reliably showing NRL (Australian Rugby League) live via satellite (TrueVisions/Fox Sports) or streaming. Due to the time difference (Bali GMT+8 is 3 hours ahead of eastern Australia), Friday/Saturday night games often air Saturday/Sunday mornings Bali time – bars open early for big matches like State of Origin or finals. Seminyak/Legian/Kuta areas dominate; confirm via bar Facebook for specific games, as coverage is strong for NRL.

Am staying at Royal Purnama Resort Sukawati, is thete somewhere close to watch the NRL state of origin.
I am not sure of any sports bars around your resort in Gianyar but you best bet would be the sports bars in Sanur which are not too far away. Either Barb’s Sports Bar or White Sands Sports Bar will probably show the State of Origin. I have emailed White Sands Sports Bar as they normally show Rugby League games and they usually respond to my emails quickly.

Meads at Tanjung Benoa near Nusa Dua shows all the NRL and AFL and rugby union. Had good food and cold beer
If you are looking for the best place to watch sport and all the finals action then head to Finns Recreation Club at Canggu. With over 30 screens both indoors and out the air conditioned sports bar and spacious outdoor Bistro C are the perfect place to watch in comfort and be sure of getting a good spot in front of a screen.
