January 25, 2026My Go-To Japanese Fix in Sanur, Bali! Since opening in 2015, Soya has been a standout on Jalan Danau Tamblingan — right next to Starbucks, impossible to miss. It’s hands-down one of the best Japanese spots in Sanur, serving a huge range of traditional dishes with some creative twists, all in a cozy, air-conditioned interior decked with lovely Japanese art on the walls. Outside smoking area has comfy tables too. Free WiFi (just ask for the password) is a nice bonus for travelers. Tuna and salmon sushi at Soya Cafe in Sanur Agedashi Tofu at Soya Cafe in Sanur Every trip to Sanur, I make at least one pilgrimage here to scratch that Japanese food itch — and it never disappoints.On my latest lunch visit, the menu was overwhelming in the best way: Konichiwa Bento Box loaded with seafood tempura, chicken teriyaki, sashimi, sweet omelette, rice, miso soup, pickles, and ice cream dessert; rich curry udon; massive sushi/sashimi platters. But I kept it light with small entrees: Agedashi Tofu — silky soft tofu in warm dashi broth, crispy exterior, perfect balance. Chicken Yakitori Skewers — juicy, grilled with that smoky-sweet tare glaze. Age Ravioli — intriguing deep-fried cheese & crab ‘ravioli’ (more like crispy wontons) topped with tobiko and spicy mayo. Crab was tasty, but a tad over-crispy and light on flavor — fun experiment though! Chicken Yakitori at Soya Cafe in Sanur Agedashi tofu at Soya Cafe Sanur Other visits? Mind-blowing. Tuna & salmon sushi was unexpectedly sensational — perfect vinegared rice, ultra-fresh fish slices. Last time, their ramen blew me away: deep, slow-cooked broth with incredible depth, silky noodles, generous toppings. Serious ramen game in Bali! Soya Japanese’s signature ramen – comforting, flavorful broth with perfectly cooked noodles and classic toppings. A top Japanese comfort food pick in Sanur, Bali Age Ravioli at Soya Cafe Restaurant Sanur Overall, Soya delivers authentic, flavorful Japanese food with friendly service and great value. I’ll be back in March 2026 craving more — eyeing these menu highlights: Karaage (crispy fried chicken) – tender inside, golden crunch outside, addictive seasoning. Gyoza (pan-fried dumplings) – juicy pork or veggie, crispy bottoms, soy-vinegar dip perfection. Buta Kakuni (braised pork belly) – melt-in-mouth tender, sweet-savory glaze. January 25, 2026Mozza Restaurant in Sanur has stolen my heart – officially my #1 spot in Bali right now! Pronounced ‘Motza’ (like mozzarella), this fine-dining gem blends killer Western dishes with authentic Indonesian flavours, all served with seriously warm, top-tier hospitality. Visited twice on my recent trip and can’t wait to return in March 2026! First visit: Smokey BBQ Pork Ribs (250k IDR / ~A$25) – fall-off-the-bone tender, tangy BBQ sauce perfection, paired with crispy potato wedges + a side of grilled asparagus. Dessert? Their Tiramisu was next-level: layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, rich mascarpone cream whipped to silky perfection, dusted with cocoa, and just the right boozy kick. Pure Italian bliss in Bali! Extreme close-up: Smokey BBQ Pork Rib at Mozza in Sanur! Tiramisu at Mozza in Sanur Second visit: Went for the Rib Eye steak (195k IDR / ~A$19.50) – imported Aussie beef at that price? Skeptical at first, but it delivered big time. Juicy, flavour-packed (a bit fatty, but I trimmed it and loved every bite). Finished with the absolute showstopper: Chocolate Lava Cake (45k IDR / A$4.50) – warm, gooey centre oozing rich dark chocolate, paired with vanilla ice cream. Better than the tiramisu… I’ll be ordering this every time! Rib Eye steak (195k IDR / ~A$19.50) at Mozza in Sanur, Bali – imported Australian beef, grilled to juicy perfection with rich flavour and beautiful sear marks. Surprisingly amazing for the price! May 3, 2024Andaz Bali is an awesome 5 star resort in the heart of Sanur Bali. Andaz itself has some excellent restaurants located within the resort including Firefox Steakhouse, Fishermans Club Restaurant right at the front of the resort, Blue Oven Italian Restaurant and Wok Wok Restaurant, where breakfast is served. So what if you want to get outside of the resort for something to eat? Well there are loads of great restaruatns nearby to the Andaz Resort. Here are some of the closest and most recommended restaurants within less than 10 minutes walk from the Andaz Bali Resort: Naga Eight Chinese Restaurant Braised beef in black pepper sauce at Naga Eight Chinese Restaurant Sanur Located directly across the road from the main entrance to the Andaz Bali Resort, this is not only the closest restaurant but also what I think as the best Cantonese / Chinese restaurant in Sanur, called Naga Eight. I’ve eaten here many times and always had a lovely meal. The food is top quality and the service is excellent. I highly recommend the food at Naga Eight Chinese Restaurant. Read more about Naga Eight Chinese Restaurant Kuu Japanese Restaurant Sushi at Kuu Japanese Restaurant Sanur Just 2 minutes walk from the front of the Andaz Bali resort (turn to the right) is the excellent Kuu Japanese Restaurant. This restaurant is located within the Maya 5 Star Resort, so prices are a bit higher than normal but the food and service is excellent. I’ve had a few meals in Kuu and enjoy their sushi, chicken katsu and their gyoza dumplings. Read more about Kuu Japanese Restaurant Sanur Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant Tasty tacos at Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant in Sanur Bali Out the front of the Andaz, turn to your left, walk past the Hyatt Regency Hotel, and at the start of the shops in the southern area of Sanur you will find the Mexican Restaurant called Japaleno. This is run by a local Balinese guy who used to work in cruise ships in Mexico. He picked up a few cooking tips during his time in Mexico, he came back to Bali and opened this awesome restaurnat. Ganesha Indian Restaurant Butter chicken at Ganesha Indian restaurant in Sanur Just a little bit further along from Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant, on the opposite side of the road, you will find Ganesha Indian Restaurant which I think serves up the best Indian food in Sanur. There are a few different Indian restaurants in Sanur but I had asked some local friends and expats, and they all said that Ganesha was the best. I went in for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food here. The walk from the Andaz Resort to Ganesha will take around 8 minutes. This is a full 10 minutes walk. I recommend this place due to their excellent big English Breakfast. January 24, 2023Nirvana Sports Bar and Restaurant, located in the heart of Seminyak on Jalan Kayu Aya, just up from Seminyak Square. With 18 TV screens showing all the Aussie (AFL and NRL Cricket) and International sports EPL, NFL, NBA, Formula One, MotoGP. and all the major UFC fights. This sports bar has been around for years and recently renovated and reopened in August 2022. Inside Nirvana Sports Bar Seminyak Bali Like most bars in Bali, Nirvana is family friendly.so you can bring your rug rats along to watch the old Aussies drink beer. The bar has free WiFi Internet access. Beer prices start from 32K for a local Bali Hai small or 37k for Bintang small bottle. A small bottle of Heineken is 40K Corona 85K. They also got a fully stocked bar of hard liquor and wines by the bottle or by the glass. Also a big selection of cocktails and mocktails. 7% Service charge and 10% tax is added. Should You Tip In Bali? Short answer – up to you! The food menu is huge. They got all the standard pub style food like burgers, pizza, chicken wings, chicken schnity and they also have a good selection of steamed or deep fried dumplings. Also they have a huge selection of Japanese dishes like sushi, sushi rolls and other Japanese dishes with rice. When I was there I had their Aussie Burger with The Lot 110Krp, with lettuce, sliced tomato, mayonnaise, tomato sauce, onion, beetroot, cheese, fried egg, served with fries. The burger was delicious! You could taste all the main ingredients like the egg, beetroot, cheese, fresh tomato and good quality beef. The chips were so so, a little bit dry and over cooked. January 23, 2023Galaxy Sports Bar is a very nice sports bar in the eastern end of Seminyak Bali. A great sports bar showing all the Aussie and International sports live and loud, on various large TV screens inside their airconditioned bar area or outside the front of the bar. They are showing sports including AFL, NFL, NBA, UFC, Formula 1, MotoGP, EPL, FA Cup, Tennis, Cricket and every thing in-between. They also got a full food menu serving your classic pub food including all day breakfast, burgers, pizza, pasta and a range of local Indonesian food. Inside Galaxy Sports Bar Seminyak I was in Bali in July and the bar was packed full of Australians watching both NRL and AFL on the multiple screens. The bar is open every day of the week from 8am – midnight. Outdoor area of Galaxy Sports Bar Seminyak Bali When it comes to food, the menu is huge, with many pages listing their all day breakfast, pizza, pasta and Indonesian dishes. See the menu pics below. I was there late morning Bali time and had an excellent Bacon and Egg roll with cheese. January 11, 2023Yuki Japanese Restaurant is a very popular and classy Japanese Restaurant in Canggu, down near Batu Bolong Beach in Canggu. This is more like a fine dining Japanese Restaurant than a cheap eats place. An open aired restaurant with an ever changing menu, serving great Japanese food, sake and shochu. This places gets busy, so best to make a reservation. Prices are more like International prices than Bali prices. Yuki Japanese Restaurant in Canggu Bali Yuki is located on Jalan Pura Dalem which is the road that runs parallel to Batu Bolong Beach. I was staying at the Aston Canggu Beach Resort of Batu Bolong Beach Road, so was only a few minutes walk down to the restaurant. I did not have a reservation but dining alone they managed to squeeze me in at the end of the counter. The restaurant was packed, so if I wasn’t alone, I doubt I would have gotten a table. Inside Yuki Japanese Restaurant Canggu They had a specials menu and a full food menu which featured a lot of smaller dishes including a good selection of meat skewers like yakitori. On the specials menu they had 3 items – Unagi Eggplant Bowl (65,000Rp), Salmon Sando (95,000Rp) or the Popcorn Chicken (70,000Rp). I went for the Popcorn Chicken as I love fried chicken! This was a very tasty dish with a nice spicy dipping sauce. Popcorn Chicken at Yuki Japanese Restaurant Canggu I also went for a few of the meat skewers. I had the chicken yakitori (45,000Rp) and the Wagyu beef Kushiyaki skewers (95,000Rp). Both of these were delicious! The Wagyu beef skewers were so good, I ordered another serving. At almost A$9 a serving of the beef, this was expensive but the beef was so tender and tasty so worth it. At the time I was dining they had ‘Home Made’ Pineapple Infused Sake at 180,000Rp for a carafe. When I saw ‘Home Made’ I thought this was made in Bali, but the waiter told me it was imported from Japan. I had never seen a Pineapple Infused Sake so gave it a go and it was very tasty and quite potent as a good sake should be. At A$18 for a carrafe, again pricey but a good drink to go with my skewers. January 10, 2023Teras Sports Bar in Sanur Bali is located right in the heart of Sanur, on Jalan Danau Tamblingan. This nice sports bar has indoor air-conditioned seating and out door areas, both with multiple TV screens to watch live sports. Teras show loads of different international sport evenings like the EPL, FA Cup, Formula 1, MotoGP, Aussie NRL and AFL. January 2, 2023Fire Fox is a high class, fine dining steak house, located within the Andaz Bali Resort in Sanur. This restaurant is not cheap! The cheapest steak is 780,000Rp which is around A$75 so if you go in and have a few drinks and a steak then you are looking at over A$100 per person for meal. If you got the cash, then I highly recommend it. Fire Fox Steak Restaurant at Andaz Bali Resort Sanur All the steaks at Fire Fox are imported from Australia, all Australian Pure Black grass fed Angus beef MS5+ which means it has excellent fat marbling through the meat which makes it extra tasty! I was staying at Andaz Resort in July 2022 and went in to try the meat at this high class steak restaurant. My friend and I shared 1 Tenderloin steak 200 grams which cost 1,200,000Rp, that is close to $120 for a steak! That is more expensive than Sydney prices but the steak was DELICIOUS! Such an excellent cut of meat and cooked to perfection. Tenderloin Steak at Fire Fox Restaurant Sanur We also shared the Whiskey BBQ Pork Ribs 500 grams at 300,000 Rp (almost A$30). These were delicious. Nice soft pork meat which fell off the bone. The Whiskey BBQ glazed made the ribs nice and sticky, a little bit sweet but not too much to spoil the succulent pork meat. Whiskey BBQ Pork Ribs at Fire Fox Restaurant Sanur Each order of the main menu comes with a set of Foxy Side Dishes which loaded up our table with dishes like Broccoli salad, Potato salad, Korean kimchi, egg salad and a big bowl of rice (unsual to get rice at a steak restaurant but TII – This Is Indonesia!). The 8 side dishes made this a big meal. We couldn’t finish all the side dishes and were full at the end of the meal so didn’t try dessert. Side dishes at Fire Fox Restaurant Sanur They also brough out an appertizer complimentary, of a Egg Custard which was supposed to contain crab meat but we could not taste or detect any crab meat in this. Just a nice silky egg custard. Egg Custard Appetizer at Fire Fox Grill Restaurant Sanur So Cheap Charlies stay away. With quite a few beers, I think I paid close to A$250 for a meal for 2! That could have bought us more than 10 meals at a local Balinese Restaurant but we did thoroughly enjoy the excellent steak here at Fire Fox. See the menu as of July 2022. I would say they change their menu throughout the year but gives you an indication of the food available, which is just steak, ribs and chicken. September 4, 2022I had searched Google for where to get a Full English Breakfast in Sanur Bali. While there are plenty of cafes in Sanur that serve breakfast, not many of them do a Full English Breakfast. I found Retro Kitchen which serves an All Day Full English Breakfast. I went in to try their English Breakfast and was very impressed. Full English Breakfast at Retro Kitchen Sanur Retro Kitchen is located on the main road of Sanur, Jalan Danuu Tamblingan, just down from the heart of Sanur. This is a large restaurant which serves a range of food including Indonesian Food, Pizza, Pasta and other cafe style food. They have a full breakfast menu (see below) but I came to try the Full English Breakfast which is only 65KRp, which just over A$6. Right next door is the Teras Sports Bar (owned by the same people) which is a very cool sports bar with loads of large TV screens and their own food menu serving pub style food. September 4, 2022There are a few good Italian restaurants in Sanur serving good pizza, I have eaten at many of them but finally found the best pizza in Sanur. Located in the southern section of Sanur, on Jalan Danau Poso is Pizza ‘N Gooo, a small Italian pizzeria serving excellent pizza. This is owned by an Italian guy who serves up traditional Italian pizza by the slice or full sized pizza. These are not your standard round pizzas but a rectangle pizza with a crispy base and just a few toppings. Pizza N Gooo Sanur Bali I had a local expat tell me that the best pizza in Sanur is at Pizza ‘N Gooo so i went in to try it and I agree with him that this is the best pizza in Sanur. I have been coming to Sanur for more than 20 years and tried most of the Italian restaurants and usually eat pizza, so I have given most a go. Best Pizza in Sanur at Pizza N Gooo Pizza ‘N Gooo serve what they call traditional Roman style pizza. Now I have been to Rome and ate pizza everyday there for 2 weeks. While I think Roman pizza is a bit different from what is served here, I do think this is excellent pizza. The base for their pizza is like a foccacia base but it is thin and very crispy. They serve the pizza by the slice (20KRp), by the Pinsa which is like a personal pizza (50KRp) or a Tray which is good for a family to share (135KRp). I had the pork salami which was delicious. This was just under A$5 so a great price for such a tasty pizza. August 22, 2022The GOAT – The Pub Of Seminyak is an awesome sports bar / pub opened in June 2022. They have even label themselves as The Greatest Of All Time ( GOAT, get it?). Located on the busy Jalan Kayu Aya street which I class as the heart of Seminyak, just few hundred meters up from Seminyak Square. This awesome sports bar / pub has 18 TV screens across 2 levels showing live sport including AFL, NRL, UFC, EPL, Formula 1, MotoGP and loads of other international sports and all the live horse racing from Australia. They even got TV screens in the toilets so you don’t miss any of the action from any live sport. The GOAT – The Pub in Seminyak They have an awesome food menu serving a great range of pub food including steaks, burgers, fish and chips, BBQ pork ribs, chicken parmi’s, bangers and mash, spicy chicken wings, southern fried chicken, gyros and wraps and salad for your vegetarian girlfriend. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a bar snack menu for a late night feed or snacks throughout the day. The only dessert on the menu is The Vegas Ice cream Sundae 79Krp. This is a family friendly pub and they do have a kids menu. See menus below for all the food they serve. The bar at The Goat Sports Pub in Seminyak   The Goat serve a small Bintang beer for 48k which is a little bit higher than other pubs in the Seminyak area but you paying a bit more for all the live sports and great venue. They do not have draft on tap beer, just bottled beer.   I went in for lunch and was very tempted to have the Chicken Parmi but the waitress warned me that these are a are huge meal as the parmi’s are 1kg large! That is a big load of Chicken parmi! I ended up having the Fish and Chips instead which was very tasty. All the food looked awesome and big servings. I saw the BBQ ribs, burgers, fried chicken pieces which were not pygmy chicken pieces but decent sized chicken. Also saw the boa buns which looked good, and Caesar salad looked a decent feed too (for your gf).   Fish and Chips at The GOAT The Pub in Seminyak   They also had a deal on for their $5 Steak. All you had to do was buy one drink and then you pay 50,000Rp for their 200g steak served with chips. I saw them come out and they looked good quality if not a little small. 200g is not a big steak but a good deal for only 50,000Rp. 5 Dollar Steak deal at The GOAT Pub in Seminyak   They have live music in the evenings or a DJ playing cool tunes. There is also free WiFi internet access. Area where the band play live music at The GOAT   The staff were very friendly and relaxed, who like to have a laugh and branded with Tshirts labelled ‘Your Thirst Aid Assistant’ on the back.   They accept cash or credit cards,   There are 6 large TVs downstairs (4 showing the racing) and 2 TVs in the downstairs toilets. Upstairs is a large area with a smaller bar with 10 TVs and 1 toilet with a TV in it. Both downstairs and upstairs is very breezy with full open windows letting in fresh air. The only thing they didn’t have is a pool table but still plenty of fun to have in this awesome pub / sports bar. July 13, 2022There are a few Indian restaurants in Sanur Bali though I was recommended by 3 different locals that the best Indian food served in Sanur was at Ganesha ek Sanskriti Indian Restaurant. I went in to try their food and it is pretty damn good. Best Indian Food in Sanur Bali Ganesha is located in the southern section of Sanur, on the main road Jalan Danau Tamblingan. They serve a range of South Indian and North Indian cuisine. They have a traditional clay Tandoor oven for making excellent tandoori food. July 12, 2022Beach Garden Bar and Restaurant is located on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, just a few hundred meters up from the beach front. Opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I went in the try their English Breakfast and give a big thumbs up for quantity and quality. English Breakfast in Canggu Bali I was staying at Aston Canggu Beach Resort, just 100m down from Beach Garden Bar and Cafe. As I didn’t have breakfast included at my hotel, each morning I tried different cafes looking for the best breakfast in Canggu. Beach Garden Bar and Restaurant Canggu The English Breakfast is only 55,000Rp and comes with Eggs with toast, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, grilled tomato, and baked beans. This was a decent sized breakfast at a very reasonable price. There is no way I could get a big English breakfast for this price in Sydney. July 10, 2022Located at the top end of Jalan Petitenget Seminyak is a very nice Japanese Restaurant call Dahana. This is a great Japanese Restaurant with reasonable prices Dahana Japanese Restaurant in Seminyak I first visited here about 8 years ago and have very fond memories of the meal (too many beers and sake clouded the end). Inside Dahana Japanese Restaurant in Seminyak I got back to dine here again in April 2922 and the food is just as good as I remember. Good quality, traditional Japanese food. July 9, 2022Mrs Sippy is an excellent Beach club in Seminyak Bali, located directly behind the Alila Beach Resort at Petitenget Beach Seninyak. Mrs Sippy Beach Club Seminyak Bali I was staying at Alila Beach Resort and wandered into Mrs Sippy for a quick lunch. This is a very cool beach club with a massive lagoon style swimming pool. This is the largest salt water pool at any beach club in Bali, There was no entry fee when I went but be aware there is a 100,000Rp entry fee on special events day. Best to check their website before you visit. A large sized burger with loads of chips. Maybe cheaper than Sydney prices but still quit high for Bali. I guess you are paying for the view (ie Eye candy around the pool 😉 ). I do rate it as a very good burger. I will be back in Bali soon and will definitely be back to Mrs Sippy to try something else off the food menu and enjoy the view! I rate this as one of the best places to have breakfast in Canggu. Located just 500 meters up from the beach. July 7, 2022Pepino Pizzeria is a small pizza joint located on the main road, Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, in Canggu, just a few hundred meters up from the beach. You can get a full sized traditional Italian pizza here for 65K – 100KRp (A$6 – A$10) or they also sell pizza by the slice for 25K. Pepino Pizzeria in Canggu Bali After a week of being in Bali eating myself silly, I didn’t want a full meal so when I walk past Pepino and smelt the alluring smell of tasty pizza, a simple slice of pizza was the perfect meal for me. Pizza by the slice at Pepino Pizzeria in Canggu Bali They had a few slices at the front of the counter, so I ordered a slice of their Pepperoni pizza. A$2.50 for a large slice of pizza was a good price, and this was very good pizza. The Pepperoni was nice and spicy and the pizza base was thin and crispy. Thus was one of the best slices of pizza I have ever had in Bali. I say this is traditional pizza as this is made the classic simple way. Pizza base, tomato sauce and just 1 or just a few toppings and a sprinkle of cheese on top. The Pepperoni pizza I had was just base, tomato sauce, Pepperoni slices and Mozerella cheese. Simple and delicious. On the table, there are big containers of chilli flakes if you want to add some spice to the pizza. July 6, 2022Ramen Shichifukujin is an awesome Japanese Restaurant located right next to Batu Bolong Beach in Canggu Bali. While they specialise in Ramen Noodle Soup, they do serve a whole range of delicious Japanese Food like sushi, sashimi, yakitori, tempura, rice and noodle dishes. Ramen Shichifukujin in Canggu Bali Delicious Ramen Noodle Soup at Ramen Shichifukujin in Canggu Bali I went in to try their Ramen and was so impressed. This is the good stuff. I spoke with the Head Chef who is from Japan and he told me the Ramen broth takes 8 hours to cook. The taste proves this with such a thick broth which is packed full of flavour. I had the traditional Tonkotsu soup which is a pork broth. Inside the soup were a few slices of thick roast pork slices which had also been slow cooked, so the pork just melted in my mouth. This big bowl of yummy cost just 77,000Rp (around A$7), a very reasonable price for such a delicious meal. July 2, 2022Blue Oven Restaurant is located within the Andaz Bali Resort in Sanur Beach Bali. It is listed as a Mediterranean Restaurant though I would say the items on the menu aer predominately Italian. This is a fine dining restaurant within a 5 star restaurant so prices are not cheap. I had dinner here in April 2022 and had an awesome dining experience. Great food, good wine and very good service. Blue Oven Restaurant at Andaz Bali Hotel in Sanur The menu at Blue Oven changes regularly, so the pictures on this page may not be available when you visit. I was staying at Andaz Bali Resort in April 2022 and I got to try most of the restaurants in the resort including Fisherman’s Club and Wok Wok. The steak restaurant Fire Fox was temporarily closed so I hope to try there next time I stay. When I first sat down and ordered a beer, the staff came and gave me a plate of complimentary bread sticks which came with some pickled cucumber which were really tasty. Bread sticks at Blue Oven Restaurant in Sanur Bali I skipped an entree and ordered a pasta dish meal which said it was Ragu. I was expecting a classic Italian Ragu dish so was surprised when it came out as a ravioli in a soup. I started eating and this was delicious! The ragu was inside the ravioli and was packed with flavour. The soup was also full of flavour. This was a tasty dish. It cost around 200,000Rp, so about A$20 which is expensive for Bali standards but not over the top for such a good quality meal. Pasta main meal at Blue Oven in Sanur I looked at the dessert menu and could not pass on the Tiramasu, the best Italian dessert. This was another delicious dish with some strong coffee and liquor flavour. Very good. A glass of wine will cost between 115,000R – 140,000Rp, A$12 – A$15 a glass. Wine is so expensive in Indonesia as they have about 100% duty to import wine into Indonesia. I chose a glass of Grenache from Two Islands wine company which makes the wine in Bali using grapes imported from Australia.  This was quite a nice glass of wine, i would say middle of the road in quality but still very enjoyable. July 1, 2022Fisherman’s Club Restaurant is located right at Sanur Beach, at the front of the Andaz Bali Resort. While it is mainly a seafood restaurant, when i went in for lunch I saw the Beef Burger on the menu, ordered it and loved it! This is a great burger. Awesome Beef Burger at Fisherman’s Club Restaurant Sanur This massive Beef Burger is made with good Aussie Angus beef, melted cheese, tomato, bbq aioli, Tabasco onion, bacon and is served with organic salad or French fries. Now it does cost 150,000Rp + tax + service charge but this restaurant is inside a 5 star resort. so very expensive compared to other burgers in Sanur Bali, so Cheap Charlies should stay away but if you do not mind spending money for a great burger then I highly recommend it. June 5, 2022Tokyo Sushi is a great Japanese restaurant located in the southern section of Sanur Beach Bali, right at the end of Jalan Danau Tablingan, right at the round about to turns to Jalan Danau Poso. While they specialise in fresh sushi, their menu has a great selection of Japanese cuisine like Tempura, Japanese curry, Yakitori and ramen noodle soups. Delicious Sushi in Sanur Bali I went in for lunch to try their sushi. I first asked the waitress if their sushi was fresh and she assured me that the restaurant buys fish fresh every day at the markets in the morning. I eat alot of sushi, and when I tried their sushi I could tell this was very fresh fish, a very tasty meal. Inside Tokyo Sushi in Sanur They do have sushi platters available but I just ordered a few of my favourite types of fish. I ordered 2 salmon sushi (35K Rp) and 2 pieces of different type of tuna cuts, 2 of the Maguro tuna sushi (30K Rp) and 2 of the Toro tuna sushi (35K Rp). Fresh Sushi at Tokyo Sushi Japanese Restaurant in Sanur All 3 were very fresh and tasty. An excellent meal of sushi. I must admit I did not tell much different between the maguro and the toro sushi. Toro is the prize cut of Tuna belly and is usually more fatty than the Maguro but there was not much price difference and I still enjoyed each of these. Tokyo Sushi has indoor air conditioned dining, as well as a small balcony at the front of the restaurant overlooking the roundabout. There is smoking in the outdoor section but not inside. June 4, 2022Naga Eight is a top quality Chinese restaurant serving traditional Cantonese cuisine, located on the main road of Sanur Beach Bali, just opposite the Andaz Bali Resort. I ate at Naga back in 2008 and returned in April 2022 and they still serving up the best Cantonese food in Sanur. Put this restaurant on your must visit list next time you get to Sanur! Naga Eight Chinese Restaurant Sanur They renovated the restaurant during the 2020-2021 and they got an open kitchen now so you can see in and see all the wok action with the chefs preparing your meal. Just like the classic BBQ restaurants in Hong Kong, they got roast pork and duck hanging in the kitchen window. Kitchen at Naga Eight Chinese Restaurant Sanur On my last visit my friend and I started our meal with some Char Siu roast pork. Sooooooooo GOOD! I saw the roast pork in the window and just had to try it and was so glad I did. You got to try this, as good as you get in the BBQ restaurants in HK! It was a bit spicy which i like. It sure looked good but I guess tofu is only as exciting as the sauce that it is cooked in. May 29, 2022Akari Japanese Restaurant is located at the southern end of Sanur Beach Bali, on the main road Jalan Danau Tamblingan. Serving up a good range of traditional Japanese food including sushi, sashimi, tempura, don buri rice bowls and delicious ramen noodle soup. I was hanging for a big bowl of yummy noodle soup and Japanese ramen is what I came here for and was not disappointed. Akari Japanese Restaurant in Sanur Bali They have a nice indoor air-conditioned dining area with nice Japanese decor. Outside dining at Akari Japanese Restaurant in Sanur I ordered a bowl of the traditional Pork Miso Ramen noodle soup. This was definitely a big bowl of yummy! Nice thick ramen noodles with a very tasty broth which had been slow cooked for hours. May 29, 2022Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant is located in the southern section of Sanur Beach Bali, on the main road Jalan Danau Tamblingan, about 150 meters down from the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Taco at Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant Sanur I went in to Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant for a light lunch and tried some of their tacos and was very impressed. Very tasty, traditional Mexian tacos! I asked the owner (Balinese guy) how he learned to make Mexican food and he told me he used to work on Cruise ships in Mexico so learned in Mexico to make traditional Mexican food. Bar at Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant Sanur At 20,000Rp per taco, this was a very cheap and tasty lunch. I ordered 3 different types of tacos, the 1st was the Carne Asada Taco with marinated steak, avacado, onion, cilantro (coriander), salsa negra, queso fresca and cabbage. The 2nd was the Carnitas Taco which has twice cooked pork, salsa aquacate, charred pineapple salsa, cilantro and cabbage. Tasty tacos at Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant in Sanur Bali The 3rd taco was my favouite, the Baja Fish Taco which has white snapper tempura, salsa verde, cabbage, onions, cilantro, salmorejo and chipotle crema. May 29, 2022Breakfast at the Andaz Bali Resort in Sanur is served in the Wok Wok Restaurant located in what they call the Village Square, right at the entrance of the resort, opposite the reception area. They do not have a buffet breakfast but the menu has loads of small plates of yummy breakfast foods, both Western and Indonesian foods, so you can order loads of different plates, just like at a buffet breakfast feast. I stayed for 7 nights at the Andaz Bali Resort and had breakfast included with my room so could order as much as I liked each morning. I tried to work my way through the whole menu but didn’t quite get through the entire menu but have posted the pics of the breakfast dishes I did try on this page. Breakfast is served between 6.30am and 11am daily. Wok Wok Restaurant Andaz Bali Resort Sanur Every Saturday and Sunday, Wok Wok serves a Bubbly Breakfast for  544,500 Rupiah net / adult including unlimited sparkling cocktails, ala carte dishes and pools access. First morning I went for a simple breakfast of Your Personal Style of Eggs (either Scrambled, fried, folded, boiled or poached). I went for the poached eggs and asked for them to be cooked soft, but that message didn’t seem to get through to the chef as the yolks were not runny but quite firm. The poaches eggs were on a slice of wholemeal toast and I had a Cafe Latte and some mango juice. Poached Eggs at Wok Wok Restaurant Andaz Bali Next morning I arrived for breakfast and the waitress greeted me by name and had remembered my preference of a latte coffee and mango juice. When she sat me at my table she asked if I would like to start with a Cafe Latte and Mango juice. Such an excellent touch of quality service. Each morning after this I was greeted by name and asked if I wanted to start with my latte and mango juice. With my coffee and juice I had the French Toast which is brioche bread served with grilled pineapple, coconut ice cream, cinnamon. Very tasty! French Toast at Wok Wok Restaurant Andaz Bali Resort Sanur Here are the rest of the breakfast dishes I had on the following days: Coconut Chia Bowl – Vanilla yogurt, mango, raspberries, seeds. Delicious! Coconut Chia Bowl at Wok Wok Restaurant at Andaz Bali Resort Sanur Matcha Bircher Muesli – Oat, apple, lime, coconut milk, mint, cashew. Very good! Matcha Bircher Muesli at Wok Wok Restaurant Andaz Bali Resort Bedugul Berries – Caramelized banana, kefir, homemade coconut granola, mint – one of my favourite dishes at Andaz! Bedugul Berry Breakfast at Andaz Bali Resort Sanur Bakery Basket – a selection of breads and pastries served with butter and a delicious pineapple jam – so good! Bakery Bread Basket at Wok Wok Restaurant at Andaz Bali Resort Sanur Bakery basket served with pineapple jam Soufflé Pancakes – served with Maple syrup and sea salt butter. Yum! Maybe a bit decieving name as it says Pancakes but you get 1 pancake per serve. Soufle pancake breakfast at Wok Wok Restaurant at Andaz Bali Resort Baked Egg – served with Chorizo, feta, green bean, pimentos, herbs, flat bread Baked Egg Breakfast at Wok Wok Restaurant Andaz Resort Bali Traditional Indonesian Sate Ayam – grilled Chicken skewers with a spicy peanut sauce. Delicious. Not my usual breakfast dish but so good. Indonesian Chicken Sate at Wok Wok Restaurant Andaz Resort Bali Surabi – Indonesian coconut pancake, palm sugar, pandan –  I had this on the last morning and was very tasty. January 9, 2020It had been 4 years since last time I visited Sanur. Before this visit I searched for restaurants to find any new restaurants that had opened since my last visit. I found Kuu Japanese had opened with the new Maya 5* Resort. As I love Japanese food, I locked it in for a visit. Kuu Japanese in Sanur Bali Their website states that they ‘are fast becoming the best Japanese restaurant in Bali’. Now any restaurant that claims to be the best or fast becoming the best, then I have to visit to see if it is true. There are plenty of great Japanese restaurants in Bali so they would have to be doing something special to become the best! I went in for dinner on my first night in Sanur. Overall it was very good though I’d say they need to do a lot more before they become the best. They have lovely decor inside the air-conditioned restaurant and they also have an outside, uncover dining area right next to Jalan Danau Tamblingan. Inside Kuu Japanese Restaurant Sanur Service was great. As I sat down they brought out a cold towel to wash my hands which is so typical for a Japanese restaurant. Now they did not offer me any water, not when I arrived or any time during my meal. Which was OK as I enjoyed some nice cold Bintang beers and then some sake during my meal. But a top quality restaurant would offer you water. In all Japanese restaurant in Japan they would bring you a glass of water along with the towel. They did however bring out a cup of Japanese tea and topped that up during my meal. Menu with pictures at Kuu Japanese Restaurant The menu has a great range of different Japanese foods and has pictures of the dishes to make it easy to select. Their website has a full list of their menu but not with the pictures. I decided to graze through the menu, ordering 1 small dish at a time. I started with some sushi with 2 pieces of tuna sushi (30,000Rp, around A$3) and 2 pieces of salmon sushi (45K around A$4.5). This was very nice sushi. Very well presented and quite tasty. Sushi at Kuu Japanese Restaurant Sanur Next I ordered the Negima Yakitori (15K Rp, around A$1.50) which is grilled chicken with leak skewers. This was a very tasty yakitori dish. I could have easily eaten a few more of these but wanted to try more dishes on the menu. Chicken skewers at Kuu Japanese Restaurant Next I ordered the Chicken Katsu (35K Rp, around A$3.50). I would normally order a pork katsu but they did not have pork on the menu. I would say that they get lots of local Indonesian tourists coming from Java who are Muslim, so out of respect they do not offer pork on their menu. The chicken katsu was lightly batter and another tasty dish. Chicken Katsu at Kuu Japanese Restaurant Sanur I then ordered the Tori teriyaki (yes overdose on the chicken!) which was grilled chicken with the sweet teriyaki sauce. Another tasty dish. Chicken teriyaki at Kuu Japanese Restaurant Sanur All up all the food was well presented and all tasting very nice. I do visit Tokyo a few times a year so am used to top quality Japanese food and the food at Kuu comes close to the food in Tokyo but not spot on! When I went to order some sake, they have 9 different sake available on the menu, but they told me only 1 of these was available when I visited. Not so good having a huge selection on the menu, only to find out that only 1 is available. The sake was particularly expensive, i guess due to the import tax into Indonesia, which taxes incoming alcohol at I think 100%. A 300ml flask of sake starts at 180,000 Rp which is around A$18. The most expensive sake is 290,000 for the 300ml flask, which is around A$29. All up it was a pleasant dining experience and the food prices are also quite reasonable considering this restaurant is part of a 5 star resort. The beers and sake ultimately made it an expensive meal, much more expensive than many other restaurants in Sanur. Inside Kuu Japanese Restaurant Sanur Bali If you love Japanese food then I would recommend a visit to Kuu Japanese or to Soya Japanese Restaurant which I think is the best Japanese in Sanur, just slightly better than Kuu! Soya is slightly more expensive than Kuu but I find it a much better dining experience. At lunch times they have Bento boxes on their menu. I really do enjoy a Bento box so next time I am in Sanur I will visit Kuu again at lunch time to try their chicken teriyaki bento box (110K Rp which is around A$11).
