Ippudo Ramen Restaurant is my favourite ramen restaurant in Tokyo. Located in Nishi-Shinjuku on the western side of the busy Shinjuku Train Station.

I visit Tokyo 3 times a year for work and always stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Nishi-Shinjuku. This Ippudo Ramen Restaurant is only a few minutes walk away on the ground floor of the Shinjuku i-Land Tower Building.

This is a place to come for some cheap and good quality comfort food, delicious Ramen noodle soup. Ippudo is a chain of ramen restaurants with loads of locations all over Tokyo and Japan. They also have restaurants in other countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, England and US.

I usually go in to eat at Ippudo at least once during a visit to Tokyo. My favourite ramen noodle soup at Ippudo is the classic tonkotsu ramen with slow cooked pork slices. Tonkotsu is a pork based broth and this soup is packed full of flavour. They load up the soup with heaps of tasty in house made noodles, slices of shallot, shitake mushroom, seaweed paper and a soft boiled egg. This deluxe ramen with the slow cooked pork is 1250 yen. You could have the standard tonkotsu ramen for just 850 Yen, but the extra thick slices of slow cooked pork is worth the extra money.

The other ramen I sometimes eat is the Ippudo Karaka which is the tonkotsu ramen soup with a spicy beef in the soup. You can choose how spicy you have the spicy beef, with standard, 3 spices, 8 spices, extra spicy and ultra extra spicy. I usually go for the 8 spices and it is plenty spicy for me. This spicy ramen noodle soup is 890 Yen.

I highly recommend a visit to Ippudo. If you are staying at the Hyatt Regency Hotel or Hilton Hotel, it is only 2 minutes walk away. From Shinjuku Train Station it will take around 10 minutes to walk to. Or it is a 4 minutes walk from Nishi-Shinjuku subway station on the red Marunouchi line.

Happy eating everyone!
